We’re back in MTU for the third instalment of our Intergenerational labs!
We hope to encourage adults and children (from age 9 and up) to come together with the researchers of MTU to learn about topics affecting our environment, sustainability and health.
The labs are based on the topics below, and last about 40 minutes each. You can pick your favourite two topics on the day and learn more about what you are interested in!
Meet the methane
Learn about how methane is produced and how studying this can help us reduce climate change
The amazing creatures of Tralee Bay
Learn how Tralee Bay is like an underwater Serengeti, and how we study the sharks and rays found there
Let it grow
When thinking about conservation and feeding the world few people think about soil, yet it is the building block for everything, discover its importance and MTU’s soil research
Its bandaging cats and dogs
People may have seen how to apply bandages to humans in first aid courses but what about cats and dogs. Also see how microscopes are used in veterinary nursing and bioscience
The event is free of charge but lab space is limited.
Please email Jason.Keegan@mtu.ie with the names of the people attending to secure your place on the guestlist.
